The Arts of Bali wood carving
 Traditionally wood carving was used to decorated the palaces of kings or nobles and enrich the numerous temples of Bali.
But today it's is created for it's own shake. Influence from outside inspired to the new subjects, forms and styles which were applied to modern wood carving in Bali.
Modern masters started cavinghighly stylised and elogated figures, leaving the wood in it's natural state rather than paint the wood or used the natural form of the wood in abstract style. Especially noteworthy are the delightful and highly decorus animals, sometimes totally realistic sometimes mytical or fantastic creatures.
